How it works

WHOLE LIFE ASSESSMENT

The first step of the Domain Method involves a comprehensive analysis of how you are currently performing in each major Life Domain.  This initial evaluation is guided by your Domain Facilitator and usually takes place across two or three scheduled video conferences which are approximately an hour in duration.

AUTHENTIC GOAL DEVELOPMENT

Following your Domain assessment, your Facilitator will explore with you areas where you want to make changes in your life. Your Facilitator will also offer you feedback, education, and recommendations about other changes you could make to maximize your quality of life across Domains.

TARGETED ACTIONS

Targeted Actions represent the real “work phase” of the Domain Method. During this phase of the process, you will be engaged in taking specific measurable steps towards desired outcomes. You will have increased regular contact with your Facilitator who will encourage you to follow through on actions, monitor results, and work with you to handle obstacles you may run into along the way!

HABITUAL MAINTENANCE

After using the Domain Method to successfully implement life changes in targeted areas, many of our clients continue to use periodic coaching with their Domain Facilitator to aid them in staying focused and maintaining positive habits and Domain Balance. These plans are catered to your needs and can be individually designed with your Facilitator.

FAQ’s

How is the domain method different from conventional therapy? If I want to improve my life, shouldn’t I just see a therapist?

Traditional individual therapy often focuses on problems or issues brought up by an individual in an office setting. In the era of managed care, frequency, duration, and focus of treatment is often dictated by the insurance companies who pay for the service. You’re seen by a pre-selected provider for a fifty minute hour once a week, given a diagnosis, and treated until your symptoms improve or you exhaust your insurance benefits. The Domain Method is much more comprehensive, holistic, and innovative in its approach. While a traditional therapist may work with you to help better cope with anxiety, stress, or depression- a Domain Facilitator will work with you identify causes and seek solutions in areas you may not have considered. They will also be there with you each step of the way as you implement and maintain target changes in your daily lifestyle to give you the quality of life you deserve.

If you have concerns about your mental health there is never anything wrong with getting checked out by a licensed mental health professional. In fact, it is wise to do so! Many Domain clients use supportive therapy in addition to guided application of The Domain Method!

My life is going pretty well right now. Can using the domain method make it even better?

Absolutely.  The Domain Method operates with the core belief that nobody is ever perfect and there is always room for growth and improvement.  You might, for example, maintain a largely healthy diet but want to take it the next level and make it even healthier.  You may want to improve your physical conditioning, take your finances to the next level, improve your personal appearance, deepen your spirituality, increase your intimacy, and organize an adventure to check a few items off the bucket list.  The principles of The Domain Method can help in all these areas.

How intensive is the process? How long does it take?

The process is intensive in its design for the expressed purpose of delivering the results our clients are looking for in their lives. A typical process takes 8 to 12 weeks, although many of our clients continue to check in with us after they complete the intensive part of the program to help maintain their momentum and lifestyle changes.   A typical week in the Targeted Action phase consists of at least two video conferences and multiple follow up communications via telephone or electronic media.  Post-program follow up consultations are available on request.

What are the qualifications of your facilitators?

Domain Method facilitators are experts in the area of human transformation.  They include licensed therapists, life coaches, recovery specialists, personal trainers, and other individuals specifically trained in The Domain Method.
